Hi! I’m Catherine from Manila, Philippines.

My first memorable trip abroad was Thailand for my 18th birthday. While most of my friends had cotillions and grand celebrations, I asked for a plane ticket. And I got it! While I was there, I marveled at the golden temples, tried exotic dishes at the Floating Market, bought interesting jewelry, watched an elephant show, got lost navigating the narrow streets and nearly got a heart attack riding a tuk-tuk in the highway. But for the first time in my life, I felt independent and on-top-of the-world. It was the best gift I had ever received. I was immediately hooked! I wanted to have that kind of experience again.. And again.. And again.. So since then, I have been traveling consistently — both for work and for fun. I work in corporate finance. I love my job! I feel really lucky that my work allows me to travel a lot, whether for trainings, meetings or conventions.

I have mostly been taking short trips around my home country and Asia for the past 7 years. Although it has been amazing so far, I definitely want more! I want to explore the world and become a legitimate ‘World Traveler’! That’s my main goal for the coming years!

I created this blog so I could share my exciting journey to reaching my goal. Traveling is my ikigai, a Japanese word that means ‘a reason for being’ or ‘a reason to get up in the morning’. I hope my blog inspires you to find your purpose in life and go after your dreams too.
